Words are not enough to describe how I feel right now, but I'll give it a shot anyway because there's so much I want to say and so many people to say it to.
First of all, I have to give a standing ovation to everyone who participated in the PEACEFUL protests, whether by mind, body or soul. To the people who went down and filled the streets, people who voiced their opinion peacefully, people who showed me a whole new side of Egyptians that I never knew and that filled me with pride; thank you.
Second of all, to the people who used this opportunity to go out and wreck havoc on the streets of Egypt, whether they were bribed or they actually did it on their own; shame on you. Enough said.
Third of all, to President Mubarak, we just want you to leave. It's as simple as that. We all know politics is a game so please don't try to spin us the "I'm Egyptian and I love Egypt" fairytale because most of us are not buying it. We acknowledge your role in the 1973 war, but the evidence that your regime is a failure is crystal clear. I mean, Ahmed Ezz is suddenly a bad guy? Wasn't he awesome just nine days ago? And what about those changes you made? You made them UNDER PRESSURE! If you really believed in them and their validity, wouldn't you have made them years ago? Wouldn't you have tried to enforce reform a long time ago? I mean, you've been around for 30 years, you've had more than enough time.
Fourth of all, to all those who are so anti-protests and pro-Mubarak; it's easy to feel that way when you live in peace, can eat whenever you want, have relatives who are part of the regime and not victims of said regime, have your Blackberry and your iPhone and your iPod and your laptop, have at least three different residences; in short, don't really suffer that much. Not everyone has been blessed with the same fate, however, so excuse those people while they join the protests, please. Excuse others who may have the same privileges as yourself but are not really fans of corruption, and who want a better Egypt with less bribery, less "wasta", less poverty and more freedom of speech, more rights for the poor and actual progress for Egypt for a change, instead of one that is continually talked about yet doesn't seem to exist!
Fifth of all, may God bless Egypt and have mercy on the souls of all those who lost their lives in the past nine days. I really do hope things turn out well.
