I’ve talked about religion before. Religion really is an important thing because it governs your way of life. I’m not a preacher or anything, but allow me to explain what I mean…
In order to live, you have to have certain opinions or beliefs, otherwise, how do you live? How do you function? How do you act or react to the world around you? How do you work? How do you rest? How do you do anything if you don’t believe in or have a certain attitude towards certain things? So basically, we’ve established that a person’s life depends greatly upon their opinions or beliefs.
In my own personal opinion, one of the main reasons so many people today are shying away from organized religion is because of the whole science versus God’s will argument. I really don’t see why this is causing a problem. Take rain, for example. It happens because of the whole evaporation-condensation thing, and that happens with God’s will. Meaning, God is the one who makes things happen and science is just the system, the way they happen.
Another thing I really don’t get is the whole good/bad luck thing. I believe that there is nothing called luck, be it good or bad, and no creation or thing can bring about good or bad luck. Whatever happens to you is part of Allah (SWT)’s plan. God gave every human being a brain to think for himself and choose, but He already knows the outcome. Sometimes I wonder, why then? If God already knows the outcome and what will happen, then why is anything happening at all? And then I remember that we don’t. We don’t know what’ll happen, so if all this doesn’t happen, we wouldn’t understand.
I’m a Muslim, and I really do think that Islam explains some of the things people see as “holes” in religion. Some people might say that that’s because I grew up a Muslim, but don’t you think that those holes exist for you because you didn’t? Maybe those holes are there because you don’t really understand the religion? Don’t get me wrong, I don’t know everything about Islam, but here I am, learning, and it’s a nice thing. But I really don’t appreciate people who judge the religion without knowing much about it. Yes, that is indeed a crime we are all guilty of sometimes, but we need to stop. We need to realize that, at the end of the day, God is the only one who gets to judge.
