No, I do not mean the beginning of yet another year, filled with good wishes and resolutions (I would LOVE to know who made up the whole new year's resolutions thing. Honestly); I mean MID-YEAR EXAM TIME!
For those of you who are unfamiliar with the Egyptian educational system, here's how it goes. There are basically two terms in every grade from the first to the tenth. In grades eleven and twelve, however, grade 11 is kind of like the first term, and grade 12 is considered the second. Naturally, after every term ends there are the dreaded exams, which are called here in Egypt mid-year exams if they're the first term exams, or final exams if they're...well, you get the picture.
Anyway, as the end of the first term dawns, so do the exams. Next week I have my A' Levels (English and French) and at the end of January I'll start my other exams (Arabic, science, maths, social studies, religion, computer, art and technology. I KNOW! Art? It's my worst nightmare. I mean, I draw like a four-year-old. Or maybe worse. Not that there's anything wrong with the artistic skills of four-year-olds, but they're not exactly considered Louvre-worthy).
Wish me luck!
It's back to school time for me too. I seem to have stumbled upon your blog, but I'm excited to read more.
