Have you ever thought about your opinions? How one day you totally hated something, and the next you loved it? (Okay, maybe that doesn't happen overnight, but you get my meaning). And how does fashion affect the way we think so much? How do the fashion industry people manage to convince us that this is IT, that the only way to look good is to wear THIS? And why, why why why do we feel compelled to go and buy the same pair of boots we just saw 918729830920293029383 people wearing?
We all say we encourage standing out, being your own person, but that's difficult to do these days, when you don't even know what you REALLY think. You keep making up your mind and changing it (with the help of outside factors, of course), so you get really confused. Does anyone even know what they like and don't like anymore? If the trends can convince you to wear "what's in" now, then what else can they convince you? How far will it go? Will we all be walking around wearing chicken suits because that's what's fashionable soon?
If it were simply a matter of standing up and doing what we really believe in, things would've been much easier. But it also happens to be a matter of not even KNOWING what we think anymore. Our likes, dislikes, loves, hates, opinions and convictions; where do they come from? And more importantly, where do they go?
