To All Those Who Asked Protesters To Stop

To the group of people who asked protesters in the Egyptian Revolution to stop, claiming that "enough demands had been met", "changes we'd never even have dreamed of have taken place" or "what you're doing is disturbing peace and being disrespectful"; I have this to say to you:

If they'd have stopped, would the Mubaraks have left?
If they'd have stopped, would Shafiq have left and Essam Sharaf been appointed as the new prime minister?
If they'd have stopped, would State Security headquarters (notorious for barbarous torture of the innocent and guilty alike) have gotten the blow they received today which will, hopefully, pave the path for the dismantling of that apparatus?
If they'd have stopped, could you condemn ElAdly publicly and not get arrested? Would Ezz and Adly and co. even be out of the picture?
If they'd have stopped, would all of us--well, okay then, most of us--have the hope and desire for peaceful change we have now?
If they'd have stopped, would ours have made headlines as one of the most powerful peaceful revolutions in the world?
If they'd have stopped, would all those 'Let's Clean Egypt' campaigns have been launched?
If they'd have stopped, would we have been able to differentiate between the honest and the hypocritical of media personnel as we do now?
If they'd have stopped, would our voices have gotten heard as loudly and clearly as they did?
If they'd have stopped, would Egypt be the same it is now?

We've got a long road ahead of us, and that's why we all can't stop.
