The sky has always filled me with wonder, especially when it's all clear and cloudless. It has always amazed me how you could stare and stare at it and one second it's be so far away and out of your reach; the next, so close. You'd stare and stare more and eventually it'd turn into little blue pixels that amazed you all the more.
I've realized that we've grown so used to the universe and everything in it that we fail to see the beauty and wonderment of Allah (SWT)'s creation. What proves this theory all the more is how we as babies and toddlers are fascinated by everything, but as we grow older, this fascination grows less and less until it gradually disappears. But that doesn't mean that the beauty of the universe has in any way lessened; it is only the way we look at it that has changed.
Don't you ever get those moments where normal things suddenly seem strange and new? Where the spelling of a familiar word seems bizarre? When you feel like you're looking at things in a new way? Adapting to the surrounding environment is one of the human characteristics, and yes, getting used to things is good, but it is also good to look at things in a new way every once in a while, to remind yourself of the wonderment of the universe, how everything Allah (SWT) has created seems to fit in a way you normally do not think about.
Think of your hands and how they are shaped, how it helps you survive. Think of the different types of plants and animals and how they live and survive based on the way Allah (SWT) created them. Think of the ecosystem and how it is so well-balanced that any human interference in it causes a lot of trouble. Think of the stars (including the sun which burns ever so brightly) and the planets and their rotation and how they're suspended in the universe. Think of gravity and how amazing it is. Think, and keep thinking, because Allah (SWT) gave us minds that would help us reach faith if we only used them.
