A Teen Flick Minus The Cheese Factor (Apparently It's Possible)

Okay, so today I watched Bandslam, you know, the one with Vanessa Hudgens, Gaelan Connell, and Aly Michalka? Anyway, I thought it was going to be good but kind of cheesy, but it turned out to be just GREAT. I could TOTALLY identify with Will (Gaelan Connell). Not about the having a dad who *Beware: SPOILER!* killed a kid while drunk part, but about kind of feeling alone and being a reflective surface to other people sometimes because you're not exactly sure who you are part.

So, now that I've gladly ruined any chance you had of enjoying the movie and being surprised (hey, I warned you), let me get into details. Will (Gaelan Connell) goes to a school he hates and where he has no friends, a big part of that on account of the fact that his father killed a kid while driving drunk. The other kids called him Dewey, which stands for DWI (Driving While Intoxicated). Will is saved, however, by his mother getting a job in New Jersey. They move and Will goes to Martin Van Buuren highschool (ring a bell?) where it seems at first that he will just be invisible, but then he meets Sa5m (the 5 is silent) and Charlotte, who is a senior. Charlotte manages to convince him to volunteer at the daycare center at their school and check out her band. Will becomes their manager, transforming them into a good band with the name I Can't Go On, I'll Go On. Exciting events that you surely wouldn't want to miss follow. (Yay me, I didn't spoil the whole thing for you!)
